You didn’t get your sign-in code

There's no password — you get a six-digit code by email every time. If it hasn't turned up:

Check spam and promotions first; a code from a new sender often lands there once and never again after you mark it safe. Give it a minute before tapping resend — codes are rate-limited, and asking again too quickly gets you an error instead of a second email. And check the address you typed: a code sent to an incorrect address is gone, not delayed.

Codes expire an hour after they're sent. If yours has been sitting around, request a fresh one rather than typing the old one in.

Still nothing after all that? Email support@pointsmaxxing.app from the address you're trying to sign in with and we'll sort it out.

Your card isn't in the list

We periodically add/update cards so the earn rates are right rather than guessed, which means the catalog is always a little behind the market. Tell us what's missing at support@pointsmaxxing.app — the issuer and the exact card name is all we need — and we'll get it in.

A recommendation looks wrong

Tell us. Send the store, the card you expected, and the card we picked, and we'll check the rates behind it.

Two things that explain most surprises. Rewards are shown as cents per dollar so cards on different programs can be compared at all, which means a points card's value depends on what those points are worth — and that's an estimate, not a promise. And some rates only apply once you've linked something, like a fuel programme or a loyalty account. Check the card's page in the app for a prompt asking whether that applies to you; switching it on changes the answer.

Points 101 walks through how the numbers work.

Location and Store Alerts

Location is read when you ask for a recommendation, and — only if you switch on Store Alerts — when your phone notices you've arrived somewhere. Store Alerts does its matching on the device: we aren't told where you are and we keep no history of where you've been.

You can turn the permission off in your device settings at any time. The app keeps working; you search for stores by name instead. The privacy policy covers this in full.

Deleting your account or your data

Email support@pointsmaxxing.app from the address on the account and we'll delete it — your profile, your cards and your preferences. You can also ask what we hold about you, or have it corrected.

Getting a useful answer faster

Tell us your phone and OS version, roughly when it happened, and what you expected instead. We can't see your screen and we don't record what you tap, so the details are genuinely the difference between a fix and a guess.
